It has been quite some time since mocha brown has made its way to the public like only Nike SB can pull it off. Next month the Zoom Tre will drop in an awesome brown, black, and color color up with the brown elephant print covering the back panels of the shoes.

Nike Air Trainer III "Optimus Prime" Update

It’s been several months since the sample pics of the ”Optimus Prime” Air Trainer III were revealed. Originally it was said they would release in July around the Transformers movie release date. Well July went by and the shoes didn’t release. In August we found out Nike would not only release the Optimus Prime Trainer III, but an Trainer Huarache, and Air Max 90 Boot would also drop. The Transformers Pack was suppose to hit select Nike accounts August 9th, but the month flew by with no sign of the pack. Shortly after that we posted pics of the Transformers AM90 Boot, and we had reason to believe the pack would release soon.

Now August and September has passed, and still no Transformers Pack. We don’t have much info, but what was told to us is the pack is set to release sometime in Fall 2007. As you may recall from the last update the Autobot logo has been removed. Rumors were floating around that Nike removed the 3M reflective material, and that was false. However there is no confirmed release date, and it’s quite possible the pack may not release until early 2008. Nonetheless the pack is not scrapped according to the info that was given to us. Stay tuned as we continue to keep updated on the mystery Transformers Pack.

Jordan Brand decides to retro the “Playoff” VIII colorway this year as their annual Holiday release. As of right now the release date is set for December 22nd.

Nike Air Force Ones Women’s Charles Barkley Auburn Edition

This weekend was the kick off the the three month long Charles Barkley Air Force Ones campaign. Every two weeks, Nike will release a set of Air Force Ones that represent one of the 6 teams that Sir Charles suited up for. The first weekend pays homage to Barkley’s high school (Leeds High School), but the women’s Air Force Ones honor his college alma mater of Auburn.

The absence of navy and the presence of brown makes the kicks look more like they are made for University of Texas than Auburn. Either way, both colleges need any extra luck for Saturday’s match-ups. Both are just $75 and are available up to size 12W for those of guys who want to squeeze into them.

Nike Air Movement

Nike seem to have put their best and brightest brains right now into their ACG affiliate, with one eye firmly focused on the hiker category. From the thinktank that produced the Air Max boots, Geodome, Lavadome, Goadome, Telstradome and the Baltoro, comes this fresh addition - the Air Movement. From the ground up this one just works. The stealth materials and military style color-up mixed with the salt and pepper speckled midsole are balanced and tauter than a Tamil Tiger. A massive two thumbs up from the SNKRFRKR HQ for this corker. Now if we could just get the Vulgarian back on the scene we’ll be happy as Barry Crocker.

Nike Court Force High Women's

Three new Court Forces are about to drop exclusively for the ladies. Each of them are winners in our eyes, but the definite standout is the subtler version of the Easter force that dropped this past April. Featuring a slicker, blacker upper complemented by purple, pink and white, the fluorescent yellow Nike tongue tag really makes this little gem pop.

The safari-like Court Force will also appeal to all those leopard print loving chicks, especially to those that missed out on the Zoo AM1 that dropped last year! And lastly, the tweed premium in grey kicks it to all those girls that like a bit of sophistication and a more earthy tone to their shoes. But check the fluoro pink pops in the sole and tongue tag, F-R-E-S-H!

Nike Air Force 1 “Kool Bob Love” Highs (3 of 4 Colorways)

Yesterday evening we gave you a first look of the Bobbito Air Force 1 Highs that were snapped at a viewing party in Milan, Italy. We got at our man Kool Bob Love to ask him what was up with these and if there were some more for us to get excited about.
Bobbito graciously went on record with us again to talk about the upcoming Kool Bob Love Air Force 1 Highs as well as some info about his early days with the shoes. Many great photos and interview after the jump. Be sure to check out Bobbito’s blog at BounceMag as well as pick up his book “Where’d You Get Those” if you have not already - you will learn far more about kicks than any website could teach you!
We have three of the four high tops posted, but in order to see the fourth colorway, you will need to check out issue #12 and issue #13 of Bounce Magazine this fall.

Matt Halfhill - Nice Kicks: Bob, thanks once again for giving us the opportunity to speak with you. Last time we spoke, we were discussing the three low cut Kool Bob Love’s and you mentioned that you wanted to make a shoe that older dudes from your era would like as well as younger cats. Did you do the same for the high top Air Force Ones?

Bobbito Garcia: For the Air Force Highs, I don’t think that I had the younger kids in mind as much. Although I am hoping the young kids do feel them. These I really just thought about the dudes from the ’80s and what we wore in the ’80s - that was my inspiration. I added some little touches to make them more current so they weren’t straight ’80s, but they were definitely for the older set. I definitely don’t want to exclude younger kids but I think the older cats from my time will be flipping for them.

Matt: Back in the day, what was the first colorway you had of the Air Force Ones?

Bobbito: Initially they were only available in the White/Grey, but I would paint my kicks. So I painted them burgundy to match the Lower Merion High School Aces Varsity uniform.

Matt: In your book, “Where’d You Get Those?” New York City Sneaker Culture: 1960-1987, you wrote about how you first saw them in Philly for $90 which may not sound like alot, but what was the typical baller paying for a pair of kicks back then?

Bobbito: Back then, anywhere from $40 to $50. $50 was at the high end, so $90 was a major step up.

Matt: What was it like the first time that you played ball in the Air Force Ones?

Bobbito: It was obvious that they were the greatest shoe, up until that point, ever made. Nothing even came close. The midsole was double the size of most other midsoles. For a guy like myself that played alot outdoors, that was like a savior.

Matt: Could you tell a difference the first outdoor basketball season that your feet would fatigue less?

Bobbito: I don’t know if there was less fatigue. We were playing ball for 5 or 6 hours a day, so there was fatigue regardless, but in the back of my head I kinda thought that in the long run, the extra cushioning might help save my knees.
I’ll say this too. I used to twist my ankle ALL the time playing ball and i rarely twisted my ankle in Air Force Ones. The reason was that the midsole wasn’t just thick, it was wide. And again, compared to sneakers available at that time, so when you came down with the wider outsole, there was less chance for you to turn your ankle. The strap and the higher cut didn’t really help that much, when you are going to twist your ankle, your going to twist your ankle - you could lace and strap those kicks up Arnold Schwarzenegger strength. Thats why I felt comfortable playing ball in Air Force 1 lows, because the shoe had such a solid, wide outsole.

Matt: Touching back to the inspiration from the shoes, did you think about the 80’s more because the shoes were high tops and more high tops were worn back then?

Bobbito: The first three we did the low cut, but it was really Nike’s idea to do a high cut for the Fall release which I had no opposition to - I’ve worn both. But because they were a high top, to me that’s more of a basketball aesthetic than a chillin’ aesthetic. I think most people who wear Air Force 1s for chillin’ wear lows.
When it came to the high top aesthetic, I thought let me make these kicks more straight ball sneakers ball design. However, I did flip two that you will see on BounceMag hopefully later on today . I did two that are straight for chillin’, not for ballin’ at all. you’ll see them in a second. They are straight for wearing with jeans. Not crazy colors - very much old school “I can rock there with a bunch of outfits” colors.

Matt: Once again, big thanks for doing this with us again.

Bobbito: No doubt, peace.

Sneak Peek: Nike Air Force Ones Bobbito Highs

Legendary sneaker addict and author of “Where’d You Get Those” Bobbito Garcia was called upon by Nike to work on some Air Force Ones for the 25th Anniversary. Bobbito has been a self-proclaimed fan of the Air Force 1 since the shoes debuted in 1982.

The first 3 pairs of Bobbito Air Force Ones that we have seen released this year were all low cuts, but the original pairs he balled in were the high tops in ‘82. The two have connected again to put together some more Air Force Ones, however this time in the original high top.

At the point we have very little info as these were quick snaps taken and posted by We Love Paris at an AF1 event in Milan, Italy. From the shots, what we can tell is that Bobbito put on what appears to be a red-orange leather upper, accents of royal blue, white sidewall (aka midsole), and gum outsole. When we toyed with the photos it looks like the shoes either have a white or silver swoosh.

We will try to get more info for you and hopefully get ahold of Bob himself. It looks like this year could end with a bang!

Newest Jordan Info Update

The AJ 17 will be in OG colors, although I'm not sure about the color placement. The same goes for the AJ 6.

For the AJ 21, it looks like many (including myself) got their wish of a certain color being released.

Keep in mind that I have not seen the shoes, so don't get your hopes up in case color placement/materials is not true to OG: FrenchBlue, I wouldn't say Blue or Red, but rather Black/Silver XVII's.

As for the XX1's, they will be the Black/Silver/Red pair.

XVI's will be Black/Red.The beloved VI's, White/Black/Carmine!!!

There is some confusion with the VII's. The GS is showing as White/Red/Light Silver, but the Men's is showing as Black/Red/Light Silver. I don't know if they are thinking about changing them or if it's just a mistake.

The II will be White/Red.

Countdown package will be 1 per month.

Another Limited XX3 in April - Regional XX3 - Air Jordan Fusion featuring AJ 5 & Air Force 1 both available Men & Women sizes.

Countdown bag featuring AJ 6 & AJ 17 similar to the Retro 3 Cement Bag that was released in Black & White. This one will have the AJ 6 Sole and the Top is from the AJ 17.

Nike Air Tech Challenge II Retro

Nike will be releasing the predecessor to the Air Tech Challenge III that was released in a couple different colorways earlier this year. This catalog picture of the Air Tech Challenge features a OG-like White/Black/Pink colorway. A White/Blue/Green is also line-up up for next summer along with the White/Black/Pink version. Although this is just a early sample things maybe change so keep your eyes peeled.
